Marc Koehler (1977) is of Dutch-Portuguese origin. He studied Engineering at the Amsterdam School of Technology, Urbanism at the Technical University of Lisbon, and Architecture at the Technical University of Delft, where he graduated with Honors in 2003.

After working at Architekten Cie. in Amsterdam, Marc started his own practice in 2005. His studio has now developed into a dynamic design agency working across a diverse range of themes, situations and scales in several countries. Marc Koehler Architects is a certified member of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA).

Marc is a staff member of the Technical University of Delft, where he is involved in two design studios; 'Exploring the Public City; strategic public spaces for vital New Town design' and the studio 'Politics & Architecture/ House of democracy'.

The work of Marc Koehler Architects has been frequently awarded and published. Winning designs include the Oporto Riverfront competition (2008), the Heuvelland community center in Belgium (2009), the new residence of the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture (2009) and the Vesalius Campus building in Gent (2011).

Several projects were extensively published. They include IJburg House, nominated for the Amsterdam Architecture Award 2008, the Dutch Facade Design Award 2008, Fritz Hoger Preis 2008, the most beautiful house 2008, WAN best house of 2008 award. It also received an honorable mention in the World Architecture Festival Award 2008 in Barcelona.

Koehler's work has been exhibited in the Amsterdam Architecture Institute, the Netherlands Architecture Institute and Het Centraal Museum in Utrecht. It was recently presented in Brazil in a promotional event hosted by NAI with West 8, JA and Okra architects. In 2009, Marc Koehler was selected by architecture critic Hans Ibelings in the Top 10 list of Dutch Architects under 40.
